End of the ministerial Red Box in Cabinet high-tech drive

Post by Martyn20 on Fri Nov 18, 2011 2:40 am

The days of ministers lugging round heavy Red Boxes filled with official papers could finally be coming to an end. Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude, who is leading a drive to enhance technology use across the public sector, has indicated he wants to see them computerised.

Telegraph Story

We have to bring Parliament and politics in general into the 21st century, iPad or similar linked to a secure network makes perfect sense for speeches and reading documents.
I would go even further, the House of Commons is not fit for purpose anymore, desks and computers with computer voting needs to be brought in as soon as possible. If the chamber is not big enough refurbish the Great Hall in the Commons, lets look like a modern democracy.
